Well Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm writing to you this fine evening from the Intensive Care Unit of Kishwaukee Hospital.  Seems the pains, flushing, etc, that prompted the lovely & charming Mrs. Cowboy to haul my reluctant ass here yesterday AM have turned out to be what you call your mild Myocardial Infarction.  What a bloody nuisance.  It looks relatively well for the future - angiogram found 0% blockage in all but 1 artery; ultrasound tomorrow to clafify the last one; no signs of significant damage, etc.  Still, no fun & a serious cause of buttockal agony. And of course, while the good news is no blockage, the bad news is that lack leaves them bewildered as to why I freakin' infarcted in the first place. Crap.

I wish you well.

When I had mine the doctor could only attribute the cause to stress. Like you everything looked good except for one very small artery. The end result was the doctor said, I was lucky to get the warning and that it was time to change my line of work.

That's the thing about a MI: all blockages aren't fixed.  You may have ruptured a plaque, occluded an artery, had a small infarct, then the occlusion dissolved.  Alternately, it could have been secondary to vasospasm.  Whatever the situation, take it as a wake-up call and make whatever changes you need to make in order to prevent a recurrence.

All the best from the left coast.  Hope all goes well and your biggest problem should only be which strings to use on your bass.
