Well, the bass was originally built for the NENA bass player Juergen Dehmel (biggest hit in the 80ies: '99 Red Ballons'). It's a 1985 Series II Custom. I've met Juergen a couple of years ago and he told me the story about the bass, that he had to confirm three times in a written form, that the bass has to be black colored - I guess it was quite unusual to order a Series II in black ;-) Some weeks ago I saw the bass in a Munich store - I had to ... ;-)
 
The rig is a DS-5 and a F-2B powered by a Glockenklang 'Bugatti 300' stereo amp. As a result, the treble pick-up goes to the Glockenklang 4x10 'Take Five' speaker and the bass pick-up goes to the 1x15 Glockenklang 'Uno Deluxe Light' speaker.
 
I'm still overextended by the gear, because I was the Fender Precision/Orange amp till now ;-)

            Thanks for the update about your rig. I am sure that it sounds wonderful . I find that when I play an Alembic Series I/II that I get the most satisfaction playing stereo as well ; such as you have routed your signal.

thanks! Yeah it sounds pretty nice so far but I'm still not into the frequency settings of the bass yet. I've never had more than three knobs on my bass  before ;-) Are there some samples of settings available?

Very Nice Bass and Rig!Welcome to the Alembic Club!!! You have great taste in equipment I see..I would like to hear those Glokenklangs!!!  I have a series distillate!But I'm running 2 F1-X's a, QSC 1804, 2:2x10 custom cabinets (my design)housing Kappa 3010 LF for the bottom and Kappa 3010 HO for the treble. For effects I'm using the  Lexicon MPX1 and EBS Envelope pedal for the treble and a EBS Octave pedal for the Bottom side.In addition I just put a Stroborack in my rig  for tuning. Keep it low and stay outta treble!
