Hello everyone!  I am so excited to own my first Alembic, a 2019 Darling custom cocobolo short-scale bass.  I just got it yesterday and I am totally in love!.  I can't wait to learn more about my bass and other Alembics here!

Thanks, I just joined this club and looking forward to reading through many of the posts.  I love blues, southern rock, and many other forms of music.  I love the 80s music (I was in college then), and hopefully someday will approach learning jazz!

I think East meets West refers to combining the east coast style bass/treble tone controls with the west coast style low pass filter/Q switch tone controls into one package. Others more knowledgeable about that set up can explain more.

That's a beauty and we hope you're enjoying playing it.  I didn't realize the Darling was also a bass model (shows you what I know ). Serial number starts with "JB"?  The combination of that particular body style, those wood choices, and that electronics package makes your bass unique.  And we hope you find it to be a perfect fit!
