Terry Capewell from Stockton on Tees in the UK
being playing bass for as long as flares were in fashion(arghh!)
Bought first real bass which was a Squier JV precision with a beautiful flame maple neck, now it has baddas II bridge & Alembic P/J activators with 2 x volume, bass & treble controls.
Bought MK medium scale model in New York in Jan 1998 from Rudy's Music Stop. Was an abslute bargain as they are SO expensive here in the UK..in fact I think I am the only person in my area to own one..
Musical influences..Mark King(obviously), Stan the Man, Jaco plus a smattering of Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller and all the rest of those funky bass players

thanks for the comments...well will have to get digital camera out or look in back up files for my bass, just for the record my MK has a bubinga top with maple accent laminate and mahogany core with three piece maple neck/walnut laminate pinstripes, vol, pan, 2x tone filters & q switches. It gives ALL the sounds I ever want plus more..god knows what the series I & II electronics with variable Q controls do..it must be tone heaven!!
Anyway thanks for the welcome..I guess alembic owners are either unique or bordering on the mentally disturbed!!

Graeme up near edinburgh here although i'm originally a northumbrian. Got my epic in brum in 1997 (pics in the showcase section) and I'm just in the process of ordering a fretless rogue - you're right about the price compared with the states although i think the import duties make up a fair proportion of the extra cost. Anyway, welcome to the club and look me up if you're travelling in scotland.

you stay not far from me at all i live near Durham city but i go to university in Newcastle so that is not far at all.

I bet you konw how rare it is to see an Alembic in Britain i got mine from the bass centre in Manchester it was made all the more difficult because i am a lefty.

welcome to the club.
You don't really need a digital camera. Take the old Clickon Camera and ask the photostore -when developing- to put them on a CD. Easy to upload them than.

I think it does. However, I believe a requirement is that one member brews his own beer!!! Ironic that New England is the North East of of the US.

When I left the north east in 1984, the only beers available where Mcewans (best scotch for me) and federation (weak as gnats pee). Where have al the real ales come from ?
