I bought an Alembic Elan 4 strings.
I found it in amazing condition because it remained unsold for 24 years with its original case, warranty certificates and tool bag.

For a used Elan valuation for Europe for that age I would say that a fair price would be in the ?1200 to  ?1400 depending on condition and for a NOS i would expect to pay between ?1800 - ?2000 tops.
 
But that is just my estimate based on what I've seen basses like that sell for on ebay and the odd UK music store.  
 
However there is a new Elan bass in the UK Alembic Dealer's shop which has the body style of a Jazz bass but still has the elan electronics and neck
