No matter how hard I try, I just can't get Elan basses out of my head. I just purchased a fantastic-looking '90 Elan 5 on Reverb (was also for sale on the Alembic classifieds). The finish is grape burst. The pickups are oriented right up against the neck and bridge. Never seen that before on an Elan. Anyway, I'm excited to get back on the Elan train (this will be my third Elan 5).

The Elan 5 arrived a short while ago. I just gave her the once over and plugged her in. Wow! Sounds as good or better than the '95 Elan 5 wineburst that I previously owned. It's in fantastic shape for being 28 years old. Just a few scratches that I can find and a small ding on the headstock. As they like to say across the pond, I'm quite chuffed!

This bass is up for sale again. I will post a link in the appropriate section. :-)
