Not bad at all,are you really good @ playing stanley's stuff,you must be if your doing tribute gigs,right on man! now how about some close-ups!  

Well it was really just a one off to satisfy my desire to play his stuff and as a sort of tribute.
 
As I said earlier, I have never heard anyone else do this so I wanted to have a go at it.  
 
As for being really good, well I wouldn't say I was a brilliant bass player, I'm a guitarist really and moonlight on bass. However my style of playing is influenced by Clarkee so playing it was achievable based on the fact I was trying to recreate the sound he gets and not go for exact note for note replication but get as close as is neccessary to make the music believable.
 
It worked, had a fantastic response from the punters and other musicians at the gig.  I still get comments about the gig even now.
 
I dont have any close ups from that gig sorry. But when I get round to editing the video I will see if I can get some decent stills.

I'd love to catch Stanley in concert again. Last time I saw him was at the Coachhouse in California in about 1993 I think. He was with Larry Carlton, Billy Cobham, Najee and Deron Johnson. Before that I saw him in the early 80's with the Clarke Duke project.
 
I Missed his last concerts here in England but hopefully next time I will be able to make it.

I caught McCoy, Billy, and Stanley at the late show on Friday evening.  It was off the chain as well.  Wish you could of been there...what am I sayin', you've seen him many times already.  Just kiddin', you would have liked this one as well.

When I got home from the climbing wall last night I found my Kids watching the Brit awards and who should pop up to present the best 'Urban' act award but our own Jazzyvee himself. Looked like quite an atmosphere and lots of fun,  but Joss stone - urban? surely not. She's from Devon for goodness sake ;-)  
So Jazzy, did you get to play?

LOL It wasn't me on there actually and i didn't even see  the programme. In fact it's funny you should make that mistake cos when I was on my way back from playing at WOMAD last year, i was mistaken for Jazzy B (of Soul to Soul) a number of times in the airport whilst waiting for the plane). Try as I did to convince them I wasn't him, they only believed when I showed them my passport......
