Jack that sounded great!
What are you using for the distortion?

Thanks a lot pauldo! I actually didn't use any distortion pedal for this video, I only used the demo version of the AMPEG SVT VR bt Universal Audio and cranked it to overdrive.

YES! You are getting quite a fanbase built up over here Jack.  :)

Looks like you've got both pickups up full, and Q-switches in the mid position, but I can't quite see where your filters are set. I did catch a little tweak at about 1:55. Sounds awesome man!

Thanks for checking it out! If I have my neck filter about 35% open and my bridge about 25% open.

Accidentally caught the Alembic rack-mount stack in the background the other day... the old 1914 Gibson I'm playing here has been in my care since 1999. It belongs to an old friend. I sent her the picture to let her know we were both okay.  :)

(its actually a cropped still from a video, but I can't figure out how to shrink the files enough to post them here...)

Best thing for posting a video is to upload it somewhere else and post a link.  For instance, years ago I opened a vimeo account, uploaded a couple videos, marked them private, and posted the links here in the club.  I think you can do the same thing on youtube, though I've never tried it.  For all I know the vimeo rules might have changed since then; but might be worth looking into it.

You are correct David, I do the same sometimes. Post as private on youtube and post the  link here.
If you use a social network like facebook, then they are only visible if you are a member or the uploaded video is set to public outside of facebook.
Youtube is easier.

Mario that was a treat!  Your smile makes it even better, can tell you were having fun.
All tracks are the Rogue?  She sounds great.

Thanks, Pauldo. Yes, the Rogue did the 3 voices, I've just fiddled with the filter, switches and PU balance to change enought their tones to keep each part in its own space. Amazing how versatile Alembic can be. One voice does chords and melody, the second brings the bass line plus harmonics and the third makes the guitar voice.

Some saturation and chorus were also added to the "guitar" part during mixing process, "bass and harmonics" was compressed and both were sent to delay and reverb aux tracks. The "main" voice has no ambience and got a heavier compression and limiting just to sound more raw and forward.

The smile came after finally getting it right at the 11th take, ha! At the moment I wasn't aware that my quicktime movies were taken at low frame rate and that would mess with sync in editing. So it didn't matter after all, could have "punch in" the track or comb several takes and just mimic when filming.

That's great Mario. Nice A/V skills too.  :D

I'm working on a couple 'play along with' videos and thinking of establishing a channel for posting. Just giving myself a fence to swing for in the gig-less situation we're all finding ourselves in of late.

Very nice Picure and Mario, really enjoyed both.  Mario, I have to learn the video/sound recording and editing, looks fun!

I am enjoying Picure's movies and performance then my eyes start to drift away from the scale... what a nice collection!
