Hi All , health issue forces me to sell my 1980 Series 1.  bass is USED ,it is not " MINT" She is a player, and she shows some on the scars of a 38 year old bass. The Point and the top facing up as on a strap is where most of the dings are, a couple on the back . No issue with the pickups, pots are good (not scratchy).Comes with the Blue box and a 20' 5-pin cable.Installed Dunlop strap locks on it. Previous owner installed gold Alembic tuners,I have the silver ones and they will be included. Hard shell case included ,again it's 38 yrs old and not in "MINT" shape [isnt that what cases are for ?]. Weight around 11-12 lbs I guess, its more than a P-Bass. Buyer pays shipping. PayPal preferred.

Overall, your bass appears toe in good shape given its age. You have priced it very reasonably. Good luck with the sale.

That's a beautiful old bass, Dennis... sorry to hear you have to part with it, but I hear ya' on the health. Priorities sometimes, man. Hope you find it a good home.  :)

Hi, Hope you get well soon. Cheers to that from over the pond.

I hope you regain your health. I had to sell my SI shorty due to health issues in my family and I miss it. However, it's clearly getting some good playing time in with George and Phil.

Is this bass still avaliable for sale? Im very interested.

That bass was probably made around the same time as my 1980 shorty as the construction woods look the same down to the headstock laminates. I don't think letting an alembic go is at the top of anyone's wish list but in this case I'm glad  you didn't have to wait too long to find a new owner. All the best with your health.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Congratulations on selling your bass and hope your health issues can be quickly resolved.  Your experience just goes to show that if you take care of your Alembic and price it reasonably it's going to sell quickly.  Hoping it goes to a new home where it gets well deserved playing time.
