$2200

I'm tired of being broke so it looks like it's time to pass on my Alembic Persuader. The bass is in very good condition with a mahogany body and a bubinga top. I'm looking to make a sale in the MD DC VA DEL PA region; I won't ship it. Cash is preferred, but I may entertain trade plus cash offers. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

Thanks! It is very nice, but it's not getting the attention it deserves.

Sorry to hear about the hard times, Rob.  :(

I've been there too, man... I hope moving it along helps you out of a tight spot. It's a beauty... I'd adopt it myself if I could.   ;)

mtjam

Okay, the times aren't as hard as I make them seem. Just decided that I could use some cash more than I need to have a fine bass like this sitting dormant! 😀

Anyone care to make an offer?

Alembic friends--am I asking too much for this bass?

rv_bass

Rob, I don't think so, seems like the middle of the range to me.  It might be that there are a lot of basses up for sale right now.

mtjam

Thanks. I'm not even sure I want to sell it. Played it last night and she sounds and feels great, of course!

Keep an eye out for how much it would cost to replace it if you sell and regret later, then make a final decision. If I didn't need the cash I would hold on to it.

mtjam

Great idea. The only reason I'm considering selling it is that I could use some cash right now due to a lack of gigs to supplement the meager pay from my day job. 😀

It is really a very nice bass, but I do have many other basses including the EVH in my avatar pic.

I haven't had many offers, so I may end up keeping it. If so, I'll just keep enjoying it. As Jerry said, I will survive!

I think  your price is right on.
If you needed to sell it in a hurry and if you were willing to take less, I think it would sell very quickly for around $1700.
I just won an auction for a similar Persuader for $1592. 1986 Zebrawood.
Usually the auctions go for less than the Buy It Now style listings.

There does seem to be a lull in the marketplace right now though. Your bass is certainly worth every cent of what you are asking.

If you have a Reverb and/or Ebay account, I would certainly recommend listing there as well.

jwright9

Oh yeah, you won't ship...

That is the other significant factor.

If you were willing to ship, and if you list it on ebay and Reverb, you will have no trouble selling.
