I am selling my Distillate guitar.
Comes with the original Alembic hard case.
Please email for more info and photos if you are interested.
The guitar is in great shape and plays very well. New strings and fresh setup.
Photos to come... my camera (iPhone) and computer are not currently cooperating with each other.

This just sold on Reverb a couple of days ago. What didn't you like about the guitar?

I just noticed this guitar show up on Reverb. Are you affiliated with seller SGW Pro Audio?

No, it is just a coincidence that there is an exact guitar just like mine on Reverb using the same video that I posted here.
;)

Just kidding man, yes, of course, that is my Reverb listing.

This same guitar sold on reverb on July 26th for $2199 with free shipping.  A week later it is back on reverb, new seller, listed at $2795 + $75 shipping.   Ain't capitalism grand!

Bill,
If you would like to purchase it for $2199 with free shipping, I'd be happy to sell it for you for that amount.

FYI,
We source inventory anywhere and everywhere we can. CL, Ebay, Reverb, Estate Sales, Pawn Shops, Used music stores, Churches, etc.
If we see a good deal on something that we can make some money on then we buy it.
Same as any other business.

Just to chip in and offer some potentially interesting new info related to Wright's '81 Distillate guitar, please see the following two images from a separate eBay auction listed in the last 20 months (vague enough?).  The grain of this guitar seems to match that of the Distillate that was sold on Reverb, but the serial number from the eBay instrument is only a partial, and that of the Reverb instrument does not resolve in any of the sale images.  But...

Assuming they are one and the same instrument, the guitar was listed on eBay for $2,546.00, but did not sell for that amount.  The seller sold it off eBay, price unknown.  As the market shall will it, so let it be written, so let it be done.  And that's how Yul Brynner wants it.

FYEO: the auction number is "332653395450".

jwright9

Zut, that is not the same guitar. There is much more finish checking on mine and the serial number is completely different.

jwright9

The top is also VERY different. Pretty obvious actually that it is not the same guitar.

Gotcha, sorry for the hassle; I saw it and thought it might help you with the sale of this instrument or instruments of this type.

J9, if you are in the business, and you are offering it at $2199, I suspect you negotiated even a better price with the seller.   Good for you!   I have no problem with someone making a buck buying and selling guitars.  I do it too - I have a reverb shop.  In most circumstances I do some repair or restoration to the instrument first, but not always.   However, you won't see me advertising my wares on this site.   The Alembic Club is a wonderful and unique little corner of the net.  I've been here for at least a dozen years and it's still the first place I go when I get on line each morning.  As has been mentioned before numerous times, most of us in the club feel like we are hanging out in the Wickersham's living room.  It's one thing to bring something cool into the living room for "show & tell".  But I don't believe this special place should be used as a commercial marketing opportunity.
You may notice that most, if not all, of the listings in the "for sale" section are individuals selling their personal instruments, often to finance another Alembic.  You generally don't see dealers advertising their stock here.

That is, admittedly, just my personal opinion.

I totally agree with Bill on this issue. I've purchased almost all of my Alembics off this site (other than the new Signature Deluxe and Further). Knowing that I'm purchasing from a fellow club member who loves his/her Alembics as much as I love mine has allowed me to make these purchases knowing that I'm getting a fair price and an instrument that's been cared for by its owner. If people are selling commercially they have an avenue through which to advertise their wares through the "Seen on Craigslist, EBay, and Elsewhere" section of the site which IMHO is the place to post.  Wasn't/isn't there a rule that this section of the site should not include commercial listing?
