Are the anniversary electronics the same as Series I electronics?

Gorgeous!
I sent you an email.

According to the Marcus the bass was prepped to be updated to Series at a later date. Anniversary electronics are not the same as Series but the ability to run them off a DS5 is a nice touch as is the master volume. In addition it looks like there are volume controls, filter and Q-switches for each pickup. Since there is no mention of LEDs I am guessing that the pointed knob is the pickup selector. Stunning quilted Maple...

Right then, so it looks like this particular bass has the equivalent of Series I electronics. No?

I have heard Mica describe Anniversary electronics as "the closest you can get to Series without being Series" - so not Series, but very close. I would hesitate to call them "equivalent" - the pickups are different (stacked hum-cancellers as opposed to the Series single-coils), no hum-canceller, and presumably the electronics are different.

The ability to run off a DS-5 & the master volume get it even closer to Series (II in the case of the master volume) - those features aren't normally found in Anniversary, though normally Anniversary will let you run in stereo.

Anniversary electronics and Series I electronics are not equivalent.

All in all this is just a fantastic bass, im just a fussy guy when it comes to details (hence the new order), but this bass will make someone VERY happy indeed :)
