Up for sale is my first Alembic bass. I've got some financial obligations to other family members I need to meet, and  I am not playing enough these days to justify keeping most of the stuff I own so off she goes to someone who will enjoy her more than I am able to.    Pics are here:

This bass has a great quilted maple top, has no electronics or major cosmetic  issues.   It is a great sounding bass, with a great tone (dry, crisp and woody).

Serial Number is: 97-11013

At the moment I am offering this WITHOUT the power supply or cable (and I think I have it priced accordingly).  I still have a series II I will be keeping, and only one cable between the two basses.

Priced  @ $3800.00 shipped anywhere in the lower 48.  Pickup in zip code 18930 is also available.

Also, just to get business details out of the way, I will take paypal but only from senior members of the board, and only if the gift option is used.  For all others personal checks, MO's or cashiers checks will work.

Beautiful bass at a reasonable price. Might be interested but...What is the scale? I'm a small guy with relatively short fingers and can't comfortably play all those 34-35 Series basses that I see up for sale.

glocke

I will work on more pics this weekend.

Scale is 34.  I have small fingers hands also, and honestly never had a problem.  I will admit that the first month or two that I had it there was a learning curve in terms of getting used to the scale, but once I learned how to wear it, I had no issues at all.

Enzo

Wow, that is my favorite Alembic shape and wood top. Not crazy for the 34 scale either but if I was on the market I would jump on it with no hesitation.
Good luck with the sale!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it important to share bad experiences and hope that future buyers will not experience the same as I have experienced.

Mr Gregory Locke and I agreed on a price (USD 4,700 including shipping to Switzerland as well as the power supply and cord) and we had a deal, not an offer as he mentions. He cancelled because he could get a better one (see below). Where I come from a deal is a deal. Mr Locke might be a senior member but his integrity is not.

Hey Harm

Sorry, but I just had a counter offer to yours I couldnt refuse and let the bass go...The guy offered me more than my asking price ($4600.00 for the bass alone without the power supply and cord)...it was just to good of an offer to turn down.  Sorry.  If I ever decide to sell my S2 I will keep you in mind.

Please be very careful dealing with this gentleman!

Hi bassbudy, where are you from in Switzerland ?

glocke

Harm....

As I explained to you via email, the second offer came in a split second after my response to you.

At the end of the day it is an offer that works out more favorable to me.  Plus the bass is mine to sell to whom I want and until money changes hands I have the option to cancel any agreement.

In our case no money changed hands.

I am sorry you feel you were wronged, but there will be other basses.

Mods, please close this thread.

Mods,

Please monitor unacceptabel behaviour. We should be able to trust and deal with our senior members, shouldn't we? Please tell me if I am wrong. I will be happy to listen to your arguments. Thank you.

Harm, I feel bad you have come across such a negative experience so early in your experiences here at the Alembic Club.  The moderators have no control over any member's level of personal integrity.
