I'm actually going to be in a similar situation once my Series 1 arrives. I am planning on tuning  my Brown Bass down to Eb for those tunes that just won't work on a standard tuned 4 string. My intention is to just use an A/B switch between the DS5 output and the Brown Bass output.

An A/B switch is a switch with two inputs and one output. One input is called A and the other input is called B. They are fairly common. Here is a link to one. To find more just search your favorite online music shop for A/B switch and you will see plenty.

I'm wondering how I would hook it up to my rig.
I use two F1X's two QSC 2450's (picking up my QSC tonight @ 7:00Pm!!) and The DS5. This is very interesting now.

It's the comfort taper, so according to the Alembic specs it would be:
 
1.875 - Nut width
2.930 - 24th fret width
