I bought this to install on my Exploiter, but chickened out.  Still new in the package, never touched.  $50 plus 10 if it needs shipping.

Have you thought of taking it to a luthier to have it fitted? I have installed one of those switches in two of my basses and they are a great addition to the sound of the bass. I'd ask you to think again. :-)

I added a Q-switch  to the Essence electronics that came in my 5-string Orion myself. It was pretty easy but as JV suggested you could have a local luthier do the work if you are not comfortable with it.

If you're too chicken to drill the hole, you can always install it on the filter and leave the switch inside, sort of as a preset Q that you can change.

Mica, would this switch work for upgrading my Distillate?

No, it won't work for your Distillate (or Europa/Rogue/Spoiler). Actually, I would only have Tony or my dad touch a Distillate circuit, those things are delicate when they aren't anchored to a bass.
