Sorry Dave, My grammer/writing is poor so it sounded like I was on it but no, I was playing to it on my Excel at home.

Judging from those last pics your bass is going to look stunning paul. The 'claw' top horn was an inspired choice and the neck lams look superb even under the sanding dust. You're going to be one very happy guy pretty soon.

Thank you very much Graeme,

I think you are right. I am already getting very excited to say the least!

Thanks, Paul

Wow. You must have been extra good this year if this is your Christmas present! The Flame really compliments the QCB!
Hope she's ready!!

Thanks Mike,

Actually I don't know about being good but I've been waiting for this bass for about 25 years. This is my dream bass to say the least. And the way they are building it, it's worth 25 years of waiting as it has that much quality in it.

I wouldn't give them any ideas if I was you!  lol  Congrats on a beautiful instrument.  I may have to look you up and check it out in person if my wife makes good on her threat to make us all go to Hawaii next summer.

im down for that if i still have a job!

mele_aloha

RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT BILL!!! And you too Flaxy Baby!

There's room for all of ya!!! We'll have an Alembic Conference of the Big Island!

Unless there's something I don't know, this bass
is going to be the best bass on this Island. That's why I made sure there was Koa in it (the second layer of laminate on top).

I really wanted the top to be Koa but I just wasn't happy with the Koa tops that I had seen on previous basses plus the fact that I heard feedback from Valentino and a few others that Koa just didn't have the best sound qualities and I was getting sold on the QCBolo. So it's got the Koa and I am extremely happy with what it is turning out to look like (haven't seen a real good close up yet though) so I think the Koa looks excellent in it's placement now.

Come on over guys i'll fix you up with the best deals unless it's after about March, then you can stay free once I get the roof on my new building.

Aloha nui loa, Paul

We have a soon-to-be-teenager in 7th grade.  Any dance across the Pacific will have to be after school gets out for the summer.  I LOVE the Big Island.  My wife lived a couple of years on Oahu when she was around our boy's age, so we'll have to spend some time on what I call the L.A. of the Pacific island too.  By the way, my '76 Series I Guitar has an insane Koa core.  It looks almost translucent.

Not from buffing, but this shiny shot was just before the rubout:

I'll try hard to get you the shiny shot tomorrow.

I visited the mothership today and saw your baby getting rubbed out.  What a beauty!  You're going to be a VERY happy camper.

WOW Bill,

Really? How cooooll. I am totally honored by you contacting me! Thanks for telling me that. Howz the ole mothership doing? I wish I could come visit someday.

Your guitar is what inspired me to go to the Maple but they talked me out of it because of my other combos such as wanting Koa in it. But I tell ya your ax is the most awesome one that's passed through here to date, no BS intended. I love that thing. I literally stare at it for hours while I'm watching House, or I'll put it on my Screensaver for a couple of days. What a class act.

Thanks again Bill, I hope you are enjoying life along with your new baby.

Aloha for now, Paulo
