Yup, you've got the fingerboard plan correct, Keith. OK on the black mop with silver binding.  
 

 
Yeah, Rick did the bronze welding freeform on those tailpieces. This is the best picture I had handy - I adjusted the levels some to get to see in the shadows. Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting. The original tail piece only lasted about a year (probably less). This pick is much later, after the tail piece was neutered.  
The pic on the long history page is stunning. It looks like the bass was just finished. That's really what I would love this bass to look like! Any chance of a better resolution version of that pic?

The more information we get, the more questions arise: the pickup in this picture looks interesting: skinnier than the ones I'm used to seeing on this bass!

I think it had the trapezoid shaped ones in it for a minute.

If it's not too late, I'd like to change the inlays to golden mother of pearl ovals (no silver binding). I think it will work better with the overall warm, earthy colour tone of the woods and hardware.

Golden MOP ovals without the silver will look very earthy and lovely. I'll make the change when I'm in next. It's not too late until the frets are in
