Not pictures of the bass, but of the inlays cut out:

 These are barn swallows in flight. They aren't arranged as position markers, but rather to evoke the feeling one gets when these little aerialists are swarming around at dusk like fighter pilots. Here's the general plan:

 James even managed to get the shapes of the flight feathers cut. I just love these birds!

This will be a wonderful inlay!

This one will be breath taking when done .  The wood  contrast , the inlay _ +++++ AWESOME !!!!!!

Thanks for the update. I can hardly wait to see and play it. My original inspiration for this was the chimney swifts that fly around my house in the summer and the swallows that surrounded the intersections on cool mornings when I lived in Colorado. I think is going capture that quite well.
