You want to see a picture of your bass with this mock up tailpiece on it?   Here's some of the progress James has made on your inlay.  Walnut selected for the fur:

Pink ivory for the lining in the mouth:

James cutting out the golden mother of pearl:

  The Ash disk cut:

 mica thanks so much,.....
the intricacy is AMAZING!!...i have been on the road for 3 days... i really needed this!
your timing was perfect.. tyty
the gmop shot is priceless-brochure quality..
it is the same way i work my stain glass! cept i use opaque paper so i can line up the grain direction and set the color of the piece. will add some photos-
yes to seeing the mockup on my bass- just to be sure...
thanks for the fix.... will go sit in the corner for 5 minutes,, lol
see boys and girls...
worth the wait?
damn right it is.....
i have a question though.. we have known each other a year now since you were nice enough to call me back after i bought my first orion...
do i have to keep buying instruments to keep the relationship going??? lmao

I was hoping to get another picture, but here's what I've got:

If you like the position James selected, lemme know and he'll sink it into the bass promptly.

This still has all the goop on it, but I think you can tell it looks pretty cool.

Hi Jeff,

Before you comment about what's missing in the inlay, let me say the other side of his teeth & the saliva will be inlaid after we've inserted the disc in the bass. No worries. We're almost there.
BTW-Thanks for the cheesecakes, they were enjoyed by all.

fangs alot- youre very welcome,,,hey maybe i will start a trend>??????

my main concern- the previous drawings etc had the ears touching the black ring-see the 2/2/05 mockup and now we have the gap. i realize we are probably at the point of no return and i should have caught it from the other post, i blame myself,,,,,,,,,,,,,
other than adding a second ring inside the first almost ala bugs bunny sitting in the warner bros ring, or a wider ebony ring which would,,,, well???,,,,,,,,,dont seem like much could be done. BUT i will add that the difference in the 2 photos mica posted show quite a contrast in  the focal point of the inlay
boy wish i could be there... then i could bring bagels instead of luggage..
yes he is the blind wolf,, lol
question, the area just to the left of the tongue
that goop or a gap? hope its goop.. otherwise its not flush to the tongue,.,,
direction? i think turning him right will make it less agressive looking
if you want to turn him left bout an .125 inch , he might look a tad more agressive,
here is a thought- how bout having someone hold the bass in its playing position to see how it looks? as thats the way most will see it
of you can do this and are comfortable, then so am i- its just plain hard from 3000 miles....
i did notice the slight difference in red on the back of the mouth and i liked it- gives it depth and it is darker in the back of mouth. ask jim -nice call or good accident-lol and matching the nostrils to the mouth turned out aok!
out of curiousity?
am guessing this is gonna darken up once they spray? which is cool
will call you wednesday......
thanks for everything!!!!!

val i had a bad cough,,
i hope i am not being a stickla,,,,

flaxattack

val called me at 10 est fri night thank you buddie
james isnt finished- they need to put in the silver ring round the inside if inlay
when james does that he is trimming the piece to bring the ears to the top
I should have known better.... again!
:o)
