Yes, it looks lovely with the finish on, doesen't it and Greg I can't agree more but if it's wet, Bill, I really don't know. It's flamed walnut and it certainly looks like a beautiful choice. Of course it's cool, it's an Clarke Standard Model.

Congratulations on a superb looking bass erik and welcome to the club;-)

p.s. I think Bill was trying to say 'sweet' in his californian drawl ;-)

So far this bass has been flying through the shop, here it is with the finish rubbed out:

It's resting from the rubout before we polish the finish to the final high gloss.

Thank You Thomas for the last photograph. Magnus, from the store, and I was wondering about the number where the upper pickup is supposed to be. I can se 14593. Can You enlighten us about that figure? 04/09 must be the start of the project, if I'm right, but what does Jos stand for?

keith_h

14593 is the serial number assigned to your bass. I would guess the JOS are initials of the person who carved it.

I thought all the signature standard basses now came with purpleheart neck laminates. Did you request the pinstripes instead?

The cavity with the work order number 14593 written in it is for the bass pickup. 04/09 is when the bass was carved and JDS are the initials of the carver himself.

The serial number is assigned when the bass is completed.

Signature Standard basses have the Walnut pinstripes. It's one of the things that distinguishes the Standard from the Deluxe.

Cheers Mica.
