Much appreciated, pete. Im working with joe salvatto now, as he helped me build the studio and get the machine, so I feel like i'm in good hands. But I will definitely keep your suggestion in mind!

Pete ,  I met Mr. John French at an AES show some years ago .  On both the Ampex and Studer list forum Mr. French is held in high regard as the ultimate tape head and tape path resource.( As you already know)

  If I find my way back up there I will! It?s been a long time since I?ve been in a Studio especially one with a Studer. Man, I spent 20 years in Studios designing and building them. Speaking of design and build, those are some Beautiful Basses you have there. May you enjoy every second playing them.

Hopefully I'm not bringing up a painful subject...  did you ever get the treble control issue resolved?  Love to hear how this bad boy sounds!

the treble control has been fixed, but there is still a fair amount of radio noise getting picked up. when i spoke with mica shortly after getting the bass, she said they were working on a new pick up to replace the current one. no idea what kind of time line that's on.

Wow, man, now I'm getting anxious too!
