I honestly don't remember vermilion being involved, but I'm into it. Thanks Mica!

It's usually Maple and Walnut on the Maple topped Classico. Accent laminates gotta accent, so they do change depending on the top wood. Glad you like it!

just out of curiosity, will the body rest have a coco bolo laminate as well?

Yes, the decorative veneer on the body rest coordinates with the top laminate of the bass.  
 
And speaking of the top laminate to the bass, after much pawing, we found another candidate to offer:

wow. that's a beautiful piece of wood. I think I like the way the grain fits the body on the first one, though.  how bout you just make me a 6 string series II out of that new one

OK, that one gots to go on a Classico - how could you ever choose what part of that grain to leave off a smaller instrument?!?!?  Though if someone wants to front me $20-30K, I guess I'd be willing to try........

This is just before Kris glued the top to the body:

It's now in the glue press, and it will remain there probably until Next week, when Kris will be ready to do the next part.
