Hi, Kristjan, hello, FC,

I am really glad that my email reached FC in time, so no money has gone down the drain. I have this auction still saved in my ebay watch list and will report this scam to ebay.

I recently sold my Essence fiver on ebay. Almost no question received, but $1.500 on my bank account two days after the end of the auction. Easy deal, easy money when you want to ripp folks off...

Now, enough hijacking on this thread, Kristjan, back to celebration of your gorgeous Elan ! I hope you play your baby in good health for a very long time.

Christian (the faker)

P.S.: Did I read beer somewhere down this thread ??? ;-)

FC Bass

Allright, there are some comments on e-bay on my own thread http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/411/27772.html?1147461186
Back to the Elan, this is absolute one of the most beautiful Alembics i've ever seen!Albrecht is right about never ever selling it.
p.s. speicky you've read wrong, it said 'beers'
Cheers

Hey FC, I see you also have a Fender Prodigy bass. I also have one (not too many around). What do you think of it?
Bye,

Hey gtrguy! I love that bass, but I think the electronics are a bit to much, I've recently
bypassed it totaly using only a switch to select pick-ups. I'm thinking of getting Alembic p-j pick-ups and electronics in there, I think that will sound great. plays like butter no fret buzzes or speed limits on that neck!Don't use it much onstage though because of the priceless autographs from my hero's...
But hey gtrguy, what do you think of albrechts splendid Elan?
Cheers!

The Elan is very nice! I've got a 6 stringer Elan. The Prodigy has the highest output of anything I own. It's good for jam sessions where the house band players try to start you out turned way down! It puts out some volume!
Bye, gtrguy.

It's been long since this thread has been active, but let's reopen it.
Guess what?
I am a new proud owner of this bass now.

What a great catch ciba, there is a lot of love here for Elan basses. Both myself and FC Bass are big lovers of Elan basses!

Thanx.

I can understand that. I am loving it and that Qswitch and Low pass filter. Just blowing me away.

There are not many times when i've used the Q-switch on mine. I have Europa/Rogue electronics and most of the time the filter is rarely over half way open, the treble switch is usually set to cut and the Q is off. Such a bright and punchy bass all the way through the range. But maybe mine has a different tone because I have 2 sets of P-style pickups. Whatever the configuration Elan basses are special. If ever I find the money for a custom it's gonna have lots of maple in it.

Count me in on the Elan love.   I bet this one has some bite to it with all that maple!

Many years later the bass has recently found its way to me - I know it has been in Denmark for quite awhile now. I've had it for a few weeks myself and really love it! The condition is still amazing and the woodwork is nothing short of stunning.

Very nice! Are you going to swap the pickup screws around?

The grain pattern on the top is stunningly beautiful.

Well, if you are going to do a setup and set your pickup heights, or are planning to restring, you might as well. But if you don't get around to it this year or next, it really doesn't matter.

Just be sure to follow the setup guide and be careful with the pickup retention screws.
