SWR amps (400 & 700) are clipping all the time ... I returned it to the seller (www.thomann.de)
Finally I bought a light used F1-X and a new Yamaha P 5000 S

Clipping on a SWR - well, the first thing to do on an SWR when you want to play loud is to turn the Aural Exciter to zero. This control does crazy things to the low end, and I wouldn't be surprised if the higher settings can cause clipping.

It had to know ...  
My actual amplification is top to me ...

I have a brown bass and i have to say that with DR high beams goin through my aguilar DB 750 is just unbeatable

I have tried several different SWR models and have never liked any of them. I am currently using Gallien Krueger. I am getting a lot of compliments on my tone and the reliability has been outstanding.
