Hi... Just kicking around the idea of upgrading this Persuader I picked up recently. I would love to have the dragon on the back become a real deal inlay. And I want a purpleheart control cavity cover :)
As well I would love to get the preamp upgraded so each pickup has individual trim controls.
and there is stress "checking" in the finish right around the headstock area I would love to be cleaned up, as well as general "ding removal, and brass renewal

The bass is a sweetie.
Any other thoughts on what could be done here.
thanks
- Tom

Go for it... the spa treatment/makeover.  8)

Wow, does that qualify as "bubbly maple"? Double Wow.

While it's in the shop, get them to replace that wonky pot, and install a 3-position Q-switch.

Im considering doing something :)
I really like the P/J setup its the first Alembic Ive had with this combo its really very versatile. I feel like the Essence basses Ive had, I was fighting a bit with the single vol and pan control. I dont know why, I guess maybe the pickups may have something to do with it. But I never felt like a had a wide range of usable sounds with that setup.
If I could custom order it would be a 5 string P/J.
Yes that pot ...and a Q would be a nice add on for sure.

For inspiration, here's the Showcase Thread on my Persuader 5-string: http://club.alembicguitars.net/index.php?topic=9179.0

I very much like the versatility of the P/J Activators, though after restoration, it's now wired Volume/Pan/Filter/3-position Q-switch.
