Hello Mica,
I was curious, do have any idea, or an example, of what my bass might look like if I were to take the smokey black finish off and go with the natural wood. The serial number is;
94U8502

The finish is cool, I just consider it from time to time, what if??

Thanks,
Earl

The instrument file says very Flame Maple so it should look like a nice Flame Maple Europa. Refinishing takes a good 2 months to complete (longer if the shop is booked heavily) and runs a hefty $950 these days. When you get the bass back, it looks as new.

The file also indicates this bass was originally Emerald Green - you don't happen to have any photos from before, do you?

Hi Mica,
Thanks for looking up the file. Yes, it was Emerald Green at first. I didn't really like it because I hoping for a darker green, so we changed it to black. Looking back, it was pretty cool, it just wasn't for me. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the first one.
Very Flame Maple sounds interesting. I just havn't seen a lot of Flame Maple Maple tops on Europa's so I don't really have a good picture in my head of what it would look like. Do you have pictures of anything that might be close?
Thanks again for responding, very good cusomer relations! $950 is not that big a deal for me, I have a Chapman Stick I'm thinking of selling.
Thanks,
Earl
