Has there ever been a double neck Alembic Series ....bass and guitar? If both were stereo you could go four ways from the instrument.

Here's a link to a Bari/Fretless from a couple of months back on e-bay. And this one from the Alembic history pages.

Keith: 'The Americard'  from the history pages would just about the ultimate in my opinion. Wow! Thanks for the link. (I remember the bari/fretless from ebay.) The bass/guitar combo was what I was wondering about.

Hey David,
The double necks only have one set of electronics/outputs, only one neck is active at a time. There would be only two outputs total. Otherwise you would have an instrument with more knobs and switches than Mission Control, that weighed 20 lbs, and that needed at least 3 arms to keep it from feeding back.

Mike, the oldest entry on the Featured Custom is for a two-neck fretted/fretless bass with two sets of Series II controls - lots of concentric pots. It is owned by one of the members here.

Adriaan, I stand corrected. You're right and so am I (partly anyway). Hartmut discusses in the Showcase section how there aren't separate outputs thru the 5 pin plug for each neck, only for neck pickup pairs and bridge pairs. Also the weight is over 20 lbs. according to the featured custom entry.
