Bass Central shows an 82 Distillate for $1,300.00. Is that a good price for that guitar?

Jonathan Johnstone (stoney)

I'd say so, yes. Check out the frets.

Here's a better shot of my Distiillate.

Her SN is 81D1892 and she has a koa top.

That's a hologram of an eye a previous owner glued on the headstock.

I put blue Fret FX LEDs on her for dark stages,

and she wears flat wounds mostly (currently T-I Jazz Flats).   Mike

Hi Mike,
I do like the way the Blue LED?s look, there just right not to in your face and softly pleasing to the eye. I have a CoCo Bolo Distillate and been thinking of getting these for my Bass. http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/411/130905.html?1347663026 looking at the FX website the 32 scale is a special order. Was there a lead time issue and was there an up charge for the Special Order?
Thank you

Hi Pete,
I was lucky on the Distillate, and got them from the manufacturer after someone else canceled an order, so I got them for a discount. I had earlier gotten a red set-up for my fretted Epic. Both sets work wonderfully. I would strongly recommend them for those of us who toil in dark bars and clubs.

I used my Distillate at RnR Rewind this month...

She sounded great!

I am happy to see that you were able to keep her. She might likely will continue to show gratitude by sounding as good as possible !

Thanks Wolf. She is in regular rotation at rehearsals, and I recorded a track for Harmony for Change last Sunday. The song, Silent Cries, addresses animal cruelty from a pets viewpoint  and is still in production. We typically lay down the bass overdub after we get a good drum track so it will be a while before the song is online. Oue three other songs are online at http://harmonyforchange.com
