BTW - a friend of mine, Robert Kramer, had his hand in building this instrument.  He worked for Alembic back in 1990.  It's definitely one-of-a-kind.  I've seen a lot of beautiful basses - those with fancy wood grains, crazy carvings, wild neck-inlays, etc... but for me, personally, this bass is the most artistically attractive.  But, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
