Alembic Distillate Model (1982) / Quilted Maple

At the age of 18 I received a brochure of the Alembic brand in my favourite music shop, in which my heroes Stanley Clarke and Mark King were shown with their models. When I saw the beautiful cocobolo wood I had to hold my breath for a moment, as if I knew deeply that I wanted such a bass. Well, I had to wait a full 23 years until I found an Alembic Distillate, although it is not a cocobolo. But the waiting was worth it with that beautiful quilted maple...and to honour the almighty Alembic sound, I had to compose the instrumental

Congratulations, and Welcome Davide. My first Alembic experience was also a Distillate, 20-some years ago, and had about the same effect. Maybe we saw the same one, who knows!  ;D  Looking forward to those pictures.
