Hi, folks,  now that hard times celebrating Christmas are over, I will post pics of Peggy as promised...

She really is fun to play. The thing I am most proud of is that I can tune the 8-string without additional help :-) The outer two tuner are faaarrr away... the inlay work is incredible, you cannot quite tell from my humble shots.  Christian (the faker)

Very, very nice. How much does it weigh? Very, very nice.(oh I already said that)

Thanks, Howard,

you really got it ! I fell in love at first sight. She is not heavy, I would guess about eight Kilogramm, but I've got a strap as wide as a county road (five inches or 13cm), and I can play at least an hour without falling over.

Kris: It's not the dragon strap, that must still be in the U.S.A., I assume. Having her in front of me is no problem as weight is concerned, carrying her in the case you see on the left is horrible, though :-). I may need two servants to have night-outs with Peggy, or may have built a lighter one for her.

Wow,there she is!!.Stunning!.

Hard to believe it's the very bass I used to stare at endlessly in the Superwound ad.Fantastic to see these pics of Peggy as she is now,it's nice to see her looking in such good shape. Thanks for posting them.

Here's wishing you a long and happy life together.

I don't think I've ever seen a fretboard that told a story. Amazing inlay work.

And nice picture taking too!!

Oh, and nice Essence!

Sometimes words aren't enough - like my own Dragon's Wing - seeing and feeling the beauty of these instruments just defy words...

Anyway - all I'm going to say is (for what these words are worth) - what a beauty Peggy is!.

What a stunning instrument!!!!!!

Cheers & Happy New Year to you both, Speicky!

Amazing instrument.  Since it has an Omega, might it not be appropriate to call her Peggy-O?

Congratulations Christian.  Believe it or not I was saving up to get this very bass from GGuitars.  You beat me to it!  I'm glad it is in good hands though.  Congrats again.   -Jorge

Hi, folks,

thank you all very much.

Jonathan: that story on the 8-string-fretboard got me hooked. It's a stunning work of art.

Dave: Thank you for the compliments. But for me, it's not a case of taking the pictures, but selecting the good ones. Remember my other threads... It took me three hours and more than 80 shots to select at least seven that were worth to be displayed :-) (not kiddin' !) aaah, and what about comments about the Spoiler ???

Roger: I read your Dragon's wing thread with my mouth open for eons. What a great bass !

Bill: No way to call her Peggy-O or else ! :-) I love the work of John Entwistle, and I love his song Peg Leg Peggy on the Rigor Mortis Sets In album, the story with the girls having additional abilities or extra body parts, so I thought that matches.

Jorge: sorry for you... really. But you, Jorge, bring to my mind that I owe some people something: it was not me alone who made this possible. I want to thank everybody involved in this aquisition:

Oliver Baumann (senmen) with whom I discussed the project, Don Frassetto from Trumbull/CT who inspected the bass, Brian and Chris from G-Guitars, Erwin Zimmermann who brought Peggy across the Atlantic, Ivo Scholz and Andreas Fauth of The Fakers who managed all the financial matters. Thanks to all of you, I don't want pathos here, it's just... you know, thanks !

...and help and support goes on and on. I forgot Kris (keurosix), and maybe I forgot another. Please feel hugged and loved, I certainly do !

Ever since I ran across this masterpiece on the web, I felt that it was an utter shame for this instrument to sit and sit and sit in a store.  Though being what it is and what it cost, it was not surprising.

But I still kept hoping it would find a good home, and not be snapped up by some nitwit to play in his next music video and thrown back in a closet.  I'm quietly pleased it's gone with someone who truly wanted it and appreciates it for what it is.

Christian,
Looks like you're starting quite an Alembic collection! Is the 5 string Essence a fretless? A little hard to tell.
Best of luck with Peggy.
