This bassie is pictured with a series alembic on FB.

Not a musician or band i've ever heard of but it seems the band has been going for a long time. He has a large collection of basses and a few alembics it seems, even one he calls the Buthole Surfer's bass.

Seems they have a reggae vibe on their music... Neat.

I was never a fan of the band but was vaguely aware of them and their story - apparently their 3rd album was very popular but the singer had died from a heroin overdose a couple of months before it came out. But they kept playing in various formations (including "Sublime with Rome" with a different singer), and are still playing. Definite reggae aspect!

I don't know much of their history, but they had a few hits here in the states. I played their song Santeria probably a couple hundred times in a cover band. Really nice groove and fun to play.

Looks like this could be the headstock of the Series I Europa 8? : http://www3.alembicguitars.net/img/features/peg_knob8bevelL.jpg
In the end of the vid you can see an Exploiter (maybe Spyder?)  8)

Spoilers!

My son covered a few of their songs during his high school days.  There were some very engaging bass lines.

Well that one could put a huge deficit in my bass budget. But I think that would make me a collector as I have no musical outlet for it. :-)
