Yep.....it's a TUNE bass!
They are /were superb.
When I lived in Paris, the bass mags reviewed them, with the quote
nearly Alembic

I found a picture of a which is either a copy of that Hoyer, or the original for that Hoyer. Unfortunately the picture doesn't show the peghead.

Hi George,

It's not Tune bass, it's Hoyer.
Tune basses has No 0-fret, and 3:1 tuner layout.
Please see the 6th post. I thought it like you.
I own 2 Tune basses, but Alembic basses are best for me.

Hi Adriaan,
The bass that you show is Tune bass made by Alembic !
Maybe you are confused Alembic made Tune basses !?.
Yes, They did the wood work for Tune.
I will check my archives, I remember the picture TNX series in Alembic factory.
The bass is up on Yahoo Japan Auction.

Eiji - I'm not confused, I'm just posting what I find. 8-p

The Google translation of that Japanese Yahoo auction says:

TUNE (design, electrical) and ARENBIKKU (materials, wood) no longer sell the stock if the earthquake damage is a rare gem that was made in collaboration ...

Sorry if I got that wrong guys!
It just looked so like the Tune basses.

As an owner of a Tune King bass, I can tell ya; it's no Tune Bass. Which is one dam fine bass. And, if your interested in one, I'll sell ya my 5 stringer for $1000.

Bump
here is a clip from Stanley Clarke band at rehearsal
If i'm not mistaken this looks like a fender jazz bass or something close in the hands of the master.
