I was watching Dan Horne's fantastic story about his Guild Starfire Bass and had me wondering, would it be worth while to take a modern reissue Starfire to get Alembicized or you have to get an real vintage one in order to have the best out of it?

I also have a stock '67 Starfire.  When my Newark Street reissue had the bisonic in it I found little difference in tone between the two. So I wouldn't think that you would have much of a difference in tone for an Alembicized vintage or reissue Starfire, as long as the woods and electronics are the same.
