Interesting guitar in the Alembic Store Showroom:

The Maple / Vermilion / PH neck is really nice. The upper horn carving is pretty cool too. And I love the coco bolo cover plate on the front. I can't wait to see the rest of the series. Seems pretty collectable.

That guitar is a great looking little slice of history. The solid Koa body and the neck make it pretty intriguing sound wise and the plate and knobs do look cool. Steep price wise though. Same basic price as a Tribute or Further......

Wow!  That's a great guitar!

i wonder if they are going to make basses out of them... a 32 inch bass would be very nice.. very 70's

Or, if they would revisit the concept of selling the kits if anyone wanted to pick one up.  It sounds like we're talking about bodies that need to be glued to necks, finish work done, hardware and electronics installed, and setup performed.  If that's the case, and someone can save a few thousand going that route, I suspect that there would be a few takers.  I'd certainly consider it at the right price.

count me in too if thats the case...

We're not actually talking about glueing bodies to necks - the kits were much more raw. The only thing left of the kits is the remaining 8 bodies, and we're got plans for those. I don't think they will take a 32 neck very well, that upper forn is awfully short. The bass kit was a larger shape. Somewhere I've got a photo of the one we know was finished, but I have lots of photos. Whenever I find it, you know I'll share.

Mica was kind enough to show Jenny & me these when we visited the shop... A very cool piece of Alembic history!! What controls did you decide on Mica? (2 vol, 2 filters ?)....
