I just got a 91 Alembic Essence. It's literally a closet classic with no wear to speak of. My only concern upon first examination is that the pickups, which show no surface wear (and look to be Alembic pickups) don't say Alembic in the usual spot. Can anyone tell me if this should be concerning? When I get home I plan to pull them out to examine the backside of the pickups, but would love to know ASAP. Pics to come. Thanks!

Some people have us make these pickups without the Alembic name. Sometimes, it simply wears off as it is a hot-stamped decoration.  
 
It can also be removed by lightly sanding the whole surface. I've seen all varieties!
