I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the Wickersham family. I am relatively new to Alembic despite the fact that I have been playing for over 30 years. In the short time since I have been an Alembic player, I honestly feel like part of the Alembic family. I have received excellent support from Alembic and from the people who post on this site. In fact, I was so impressed with the first Alembic I bought, that I bought another one less than 3 weeks later.  In fact, I was playing one of my Alembics when I heard of Mr. Wickersham's passing. It truly is a famliy. Some of the greatest bassists in the history of music have used Alembic. As a result the The Wickersham family has not only had an impact on some of the greatest music ever recorded but on millions of people around the world who loved a song without ever having a clue as to what anyone on the song was playing. Many of us loved songs while we were growing up without ever realizing that the bass player was using an Alembic. This is a legacy that will live on forever. Everyone in the Wickersham family, as well as employees and players of Alembic should be proud.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. When I read the original thread I did not realize that it was Mr. Frakes who had passed and not Mr.Wickersham. Again, I sincerely apologize. The truth is that both families have had a direct impact on music for the past 35 years. I hope that everyone will accept my apoplogies and still take the words that I had written in the spirit in which they were intended. Again, my sincerest condolences to the Frakes and Wickersham families.

One other misunderstanding that should be cleared up, according to the Alembic website, Susans Surname was Frates, the mistake stemming from Flax's original well meant but no doubt unintentially mis-spelt post.
Again, my sincerest condolences

Thanks very much for all your kind wishes. I've passed them to my grandmother, who extends her thanks as well.

Though we already miss him, it is our comfort that he passed away gently in his sleep without suffering, holding grandma.
