cover for my #77-729?  I've got photos in my other

The replacement brass backplate is $70.

Great news as this one is pretty scuffed up.
 
Can I assume the size or template from 1977 for
that cover hasn't changed?

It would probably be best for you to send us a photocopy or tracing of your plate with the holes indicated to make sure the replacement plate will fit well.  The current one will probably fit, but you never can be sure with these handcrafted items.
