Hello all!

I've been trying to no avail to source a case for my Alembic! It's a Series I Long-Scale Fretless. From what I can guesstimate it measures approximately 49.5" in Actual length tip to tip. This is proving to be a bit of a nightmare to sift through, as many websites don't even have listings as long as 48". As my dad tells it, the years were not kind to the case it came with and it just deteriorated over time. As I'm planning on traveling with it, I'm going to need to find some kind of protection. What kind of options are available to me? I'm currently in email correspondence with several case makers, however it's not looking likely that they will return with a favorable outcome. Any information at all would be so welcome. <3

Alembic hard shell cases are made by G and G and I believe they make long scale for Alembic. Purchased one through Will Gunn. If your looking for a good gig bag, Cronkite in Minnesota makes custom cases and there are several players here with long scale basses that have purchased Reunion Blues gig bags for their long scale Alembics.

I bought a Hiscox case for my series II Europa bass earlier this summer and the inside length is 49.5 inches long and 15.5 inches at the widest point. It's a peardrop style case.
This is the one. I went to the factory here in the UK where they are made and found the right size case and had D-rings fitted so that I can carry it as a gig bag.

It might be worth dropping them an email as they are really helpful.

The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

I've been running MT Custom Cases in the Chicago area for the past 26 years. It's not a cheap option, but just thought I'd throw it out there. Custom guitar flight cases from us are running about $1100 these days.

Spoilers!

What about going directly to Alembic?  When I needed a couple of replacement cases last year I called the Mothership.  Mary was able to confirm what they had in stock and set up the order over the phone.

I have a G&G case for a long scale standard point Series bass. Good condition, used with replacement latches, you can have it for the cost of shipping if you want it.

If Lara isn't interested, I would be. Had to toss the gig bag that came with my long scale standard pt. Fretless due to black mold.

gtrguy has first dibs after Lara. It's a newer case (at the time) that 76-265 came in.

I also have this light weight aluminum case in great shape that 73-28 came in (Bass not included :) ). It's actually a little smaller and lighter than the standard G&G case.

The aluminum case is going to gtrguy.

If Lara doesn't respond this week then the sequence for the G&G will be:
