I'm loving my new bridge and tailpiece and how shiny they are.


Are there any good tips for keeping them so without having to disassemble them?

Don't touch them if you don't have to. Wipe off with a very soft cloth if you sweat on them. Silver jewelry polishing cloths work well if it's not very tarnished. Joey (I think) suggested V05 hairspray as a sealer to protect when you have them mice and clean to start with.

If they do get a little extra tarnished, the Flitz polish applied with a swab is good since you can control it since it is in paste form. The main thing is you want to keep it off the threads.

I'm the VO5 guy.  It's an old fashioned hair treatment that comes in a tube, sort of a thin vasoline consistency.  After polishing, rub a little on with your fingers and gently wipe with a soft cloth.  This helps to keep it shiny, especially with brass.

And watch out for them mice!

Yeah, that was my first thought. Of course, when Dawn saw it, she said "Ooh! How pretty!" and stroked the tailpiece. D'oh!

What about the silver polish cloth, will that help?
