Hello friends,

I'd like to know if some of you ever used or still use Phil Jones Bass equipment. I've heard really good things on this and your feedback is welcome.

Thank's

I just use the Cub (2 5 spkrs.) for practicing, and love it.  Nice compressor built right in...
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Not a bass model, but I have his AAD Cub for acoustic guitar.  Incredible amp for the size.  And cute too!

I use a PJB 9b and a 6a paired with a Yamaha power amp and F-1X & SF-2 Superfilter. Cuts through 2 guitars (always played very loud) and produces a natural, crystal clear sound. Has surprisingly strong low end given the small speak size. If you want distortion you need another rig or a stomp box.

I use a pub briefcase as practice amp or for very small restaurant gigs and also small room rehearsals. It is a great little amp and works well with a 5 string bass too.  It is also fantastic with an electro- acoustic guitar.
I've also used it clean a few times with my strat but it's not ideal for that.

I have the Suitcase - it's a good amp, but I don't find it to be noticeably better than my GK MB-112 II. The GK is much lighter, but I haven't tried the Flightcase which I believe is lighter than the Suitcase.

What kind of stuff are you looking for? Small/portable, or big/powerful? PJB makes both!

Phil is a member of another Bass forum I'm on through LinkedIn called Let's Talk About Bass. He is a regular contributor & loves to talk about his amps, so I'm sure if you have any questions you can contact him through his website,   www.pjbworld.com.

Thank's for your comments everyone.
I'm actually playing Markbass combo 210 and have another 210 extension cab. I have power enough . On the other hand , i have this impression that the sound of my bass is really colored by the amp itself, i'd like to find an amp that does not colour the sound of the instrument at all , that's why i look at Pjb. These amps seem to have power and transparency, but never tried one...

The DoubleFour 75-BG is a remarkable rehearsal micro combo, depending on your music style. I played in a band which plays a mix of folk & rock with a percussion/cagon for the drumsection, so it handles such kind of music very well. The sound is clean with amazing bass response, thanks to the passive radiator and works the best of you put it on the floor. I you play at very loud volumes, the auto limiter will come into action. and it weighs 6kg only!

I've had the PJB Suitcase + 4b extension cab. Beautiful, clear sound, perfect for Alembics. The gearslut in me sold it to fund another rig plus it was quite cumbersome to transport.

have been using the suitcase model for several years now. Bought it new in 08', never let me down, has an XLR direct out for any larger gigs ( but I have never needed to use it).
It is the most responsive bass amp I have ever owned, really like those 5 drivers, such a fast response. To keep things in perspective (sound wise) I also have an ampeg V4B resissue with their reissue 2x12 cab, it has its own unique character as well.
