The Three Wise Men

Thanks in large part to a very understanding wife, I've got a lot of great guitars. But these three are the only ones I've ever gigged with. Each one is a wonderful instrument in its own right. By far my favorite is the one on the left...the last Alembic I had made...affectionately nicknamed 'The Nub.' It's the one I'm currently using and the only one I couldn't live without. It's my number one...my desert island or burning house guitar. Although I'd love to say I don't need any others as long as I've got that one, my wife and I both know that's a load of horse shit.

I've tried playing the game of- "The House Is On Fire, There's Only Time To Grab One Case And Run". It doesn't work. If it actually happens, I'm going to perish in flames trying to rescue them all because I simply can't pick just one. It's both a blessing and a curse every Saturday morning deciding which two go to the gig.

For the sake of Jonathan's Thread though, my own custom fretless Alembic will be The One today. She was fourteen months in the planning, followed by 23 months and 6 days in the making, and worth every minute of it.

I only play the one.

My Alembic SJ is the one I'd take. It's my go-to bass. NS Designs upright would be second. Of my basses anyway. Harder once I start counting the guitars.
