She is GORGEOUS!  Is she vintage wineburst?

ajdover

Hollis,

Just Wineburst from the info.  Might look vintage due to lighting.

I'm on my second POT of java now & that is a nice one! what's toggle #4's function?,LED's?

dadabass2001

Right on the money Keavin. And I'm guessing the compartment on the upper back holds 4 9-volt batteries for the LEDs. That is a really nice 3rd aquisition. Enjoy the tones!

Congrats on the Europa. Looks great. I've been wanting to see one with the Europa Peg head.I have a 95 Europa with a crown peghead with rosewood front & back laminates with red side L.E D.'s. Still my favoite bass. Good luck with it.

The fourth switch is the LED on/off switch.  The quick tone change switches act as a boost (from what I can tell) for treble and bass.  The third switch is the Q on/off switch.  The only thing I would change is having separate volume controls for both pickups - a legacy of playing Jazz Basses for so many years.  The pan isn't bad, but I'm not used to it ... yet.

BTW, had my final gig with the band I was playing with in the DC area on Sunday, and I used the Europa.  Had to play it through an Eden 2X10 amp, but man, was it awesome.  Very comfortable to play, unlimited tones ... makes it hard to choose between it and my Spyder (didn't have enough room to use the Spyder!).

Anyway, thanks for all the kind words, guys.

Best regards,

Alan

Hello Alan,

the quick tone changes switches offer both cut AND boost; middle position is off (or neutral if you will), down is boost, up is cut.

Val,

Man, I feel like an idiot!  :-)  All I know is it sounds great!  Thanks for the info!

Bah, how could you tell?  All you know is that as you move one switch in a particular direction, the bass increases.  As you move the other switch in that direction, the treble increases.  How are you supposed to know which spot represents flat?
