I'm in the market for a new volume pedal, leaving towards the Ernie Ball Jr.

It will be used with a Further, should I for sure go with the Active pedal?  It will be used in the effects loop of the guitar.

Thanks all.  Happy Friday!!!!!!!

The only thing that stays the same is change.

I use the EB active pedal with my Alembic and Alembic electronics equipped guitars.  Works great, though I don't know how different it really is from using the passive version.

Go with the active version. The difference is a 25k pot vs. a 250k (or higher) pot. For an active guitar, the 25k is much more appropriate (although using the active version with a passive bass plugged directly in is worse than using an active bass directly into the passive version).

I've honestly never noticed any tone loss from the impedance mismatch of using a volume pedal with a 250k pot. I play guitar. Maybe it's different with bass.

Thanks for all your help, a 25K Ohm Ernie Ball pedal is on order.

I've been using Alembics and volume pedals for years, and never noticed this until I was shopping for this most recent volume pedal need.
