I have just realised that next year is Alembics 50th Anniversary. I wonder what goodies there are in store for 2019 maybe some sweet 50th Anniversary models?
I'm definitely gonna try my hardest to get to next years annual gathering and maybe, funds willing, make that the time to nail down my long overdue custom build on the same visit. Who knows! ;D

With all this idle time on my hands, I also realized that 2019 was the Golden Anniversary. I did not press for details, but in a recent phone conversation, the Head Elf herself did confirm there were plans in the works. I can't help but believe they'll be anything less than mind-boggling. They just made a tie-dyed guitar, for pity's sake.  :o

I did wonder whether to post in case it took the wind out of their sails but it seemed something that couldn't go un-noticed especially coming to year end. I'm sure whatever comes out will fill the sails and take our breath away at the same time.

Wish I could come to gathering. Alembic people rules
The bass player's function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car... everything else is merely colours.

I would certainly set aside a bit of vacation time to make a visit out west.

Subscribed to thread. I've been to one Alembic gathering since I live in Sonoma County, and I'd LOVE to go to the 50th and bring my bass this time.

I think it would be very special to meet a lot of you in person.  I will keep tabs on this thread for a possible GTG.

Best Wishes,
