Excuse my ignorance but is a TRS patch jack lead the same as a stereo jack cable?

Hi Jazzy  , yes , HOWEVER make sure that your TRS 1/4' jack is with shielded cable if it is to interface to an input interface with amplification stages such as an amplifier /preamp/ audio desk/ effect ....... etc ...
 
TS= TIP/SLEVE
