Yes , I like the bridge pickup all the way up and the neck pickup about  a third the way up with the highs cut just a bit  on a fretless .

I can also see how you could also get  the Kandinsky  thing from that remnant  .Maybe  it is just a matter of letting your mind flow  to similar motifs and interpretations  . Like music,  similar elements exist  
constantly mutating within multiple representations and perceptions . Why ?  maybe it's the beauty of the human mind .  Like improvisational music we can let all of the various elements reflect and digress .
 I like that aspect . Nothing ever gets old that way .

Whatever it looks like, that scrap should get sanded, finished and displayed, I hope it doesn't end up in the dumpster!
 
Oh, and lovely bass, as well. I think I'd have to play it seated, but I bet it sounds just wonderful.
