Hi brothers and sisters. I have a Guild Starfire II reissue on backorder. One of the mahogany wood finish ones. Has anyone sent a Starfire to the mothership for installation of bridge/tailpiece and sustain block along with electronics, I was thinking signature, being I own an SF-2. Anyway just wondering if this is something Alembic does or does one try to have it done on their own.

There are folks here that will most likely chime in as well that have gone through this process. Some done by them selves and others at Alembic.
 
  I have seen recent projects such as this done at Alembic with various different Alembic  Pickups and Electronics .
 
Contact Alembic Inc. to arrange for a fitting schedule that works time wise for them .

Alembic is currently modifying my Starfire.  After discussing it with club members and then with Mica, we settled on Anniversary electronics with master volome and a couple other things.  The consensus was regardless of what you choose, adding Alembic components to a Starfire is a heavenly match I'm sure a Starfire with signature through a SF-2 would sound fantastic!

I had Alembic work their magic on an old Starfire and I absolutely LOVE IT! Mine is the one that elwoodblue posted.  
As you would expect, it plays like a dream and sounds amazing. I originally had them put in Anniversary electronics which worked great. After a while I had someone stuff a rack mount SF2 into it, which was a major hassle, and it added a lot of weight. One day I would love to have Ron wire up a more efficient version.... The dream is ever evolving and never ending!

I'll post a picture or two soon. The innards are quite the chaotic mess..... A very far cry from the beautiful work Alembic does. Mostly this was an experiment to see how useful it would be to have a super filter onboard, rather than in a rack.  The thing I like best about it is that it makes this bass wonderfully unique in tonal capabilities compared to my other basses.
