Hello fellow bass purists-
Does anyone know the effect of different sized frets on a bass?  On a series bass, does it make a difference in sound for the fact that it has jumbo frets rather than medium?  Does jumbo frets smooth out some of the edginess or bite out of the string sound especially when slapping and popping?

I don't know if fret size has a sound signature with a Series Bass.  I installed Mandolin (small), frets on my Series II.  There is a phyical difference in fetting a note.  Refetting will be more frequent.  I won't go back to the Jumbo's.  The left hand is very happy.  It may be more of a personal choice.  Hope this helps.

Do you have any idea/estimate on how often more frequent will be?  I mean, are we talkin' once a year?  Every 3 months?  Or every couple of years?
