On the facebook Alembic group, someone pointed out the similarity of my Telembic Bass to Billy Sheehan's wife. I admitted the influence, embraced it even, but Doug Rauch is another player with a Gibson mudbucker pickup in the neck position (as was Mel Schacher of Grand Funk Railroad but I don't know much about him).  
 
ANYWAY,, the wikipedia article on Doug Rauch states that his famous Jazz Bass was modified by Alembic! Since wikipedia must be used with caution, I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about this?
 
Gonna have to dig out my Japanese LP sleeve copy of Lotus!
